Women on Water (WoW) is a great opportunity for women to get out and sail dinghies. We meet on Tuesdays at Lobster Quay – in the morning at 10.00am and in the evening 6.00pm. Our aim is to get out on the water in a friendly enjoyable no pressure environment in sailing dinghies with ample safety cover. We are a mixed ability group with a common aim, to encourage and help each other on the water, whilst also having a giggle and gossip. Some of the group have their own boats and we sail whatever dinghies we can get hold of including the Club boats. The range of ability extends from beginner to seasoned offshore racer. We are not an official training group but aim to provide an environment in which to practice, improve and enjoy dinghy sailing in safety.
We cater for sailors and potential sailors at all levels, those who just want to go for a sail, as well as those who want to improve their sailing skills to get ready to join in the Club racing. Every year we try to organise a sailing day trip to Ashlett Creek, on the western side of Southampton Water, which is always a popular event with a chance to sail a bit further.
Dinghy sailing is not just for men and children. We would love to see you. If you would like to find out more please contact Mary-Ann PaddisonThere are no upcoming events at this time.
